Kyo-mono (craft) Festival will be held on the 14th and 15th of March!
All kinds of articrafts relating Kyoto's traditional industry will be exhibited at Miyako Messe and you can enjoy the beauty and history of traditional industries here in Kyoto that has been passed from generation to generation.
There will be bunch of section that carries out some interesting event to enjoy the Kyo-mono (craft); a section to taste a new fresh Japanese sake, a section which you can watch and experience craftman's work, an exhibition of Sado (Japanese tea party), and other sections to taste some delicious food made in Kyoto.
The place that the festival is going to be held is the Miyako-Messe which is super close from the world heritage, Heain Shrine.
In Miyako Messe, there is a small museum "Kyoto Tradition Industries Fureai (interaction) Museum" that exhibits over 500 items.
Even if you are not able to come for the festival, it is worth coming to head to Miyako Messe for this museum!
(The museum is closed till 3/14 for renewal.)
The area has lots of cultural facilities ranging from Heain Shrine. Murinan, Kyoto Zoo, Kyoto City Museum and is also close to go to the Higashiyama area which is the most famous area for sightseeing.
Miyako Messe is about 20 min ride by bicycle from Fuune!
Though it is not a famous tourist spot among foreigners, it is a must-go-place for people who want to enjoy the history and articrafts made in Kyoto!
