On the way from Kyoto St. to our rental bike shop " Fuune",
there is s small shrine, called "Douso-Jinja".
This shrine is now very old and only local people know about this.
However, here used to be very crowded on the day of festival which was hold only once a year.
On the festival day, people carry some portable shrines.
I remember there were some portable shines for adults and for children.
Not only the people who carried the portable shrines, but also people who waited for the shrine coming back,
used to enjoy the festial very much.
I believe the old good days of the festial with Douso Junja Shrine are still in the minds of local people.
On the top of the stairs, there is a place to wish for "good matchmaking" and "traffic safety".
The god of this shrine seems to be related to the priest of "Toji" which is located 5 minutes by bike.
In Kyoto, there are so many places for you to drop by, though they are not introduced in the any guide books.
You can discover your original attractive places .
When you find some places to attract you, with bikes it is easy to drop by and feel the atmosphers.
Since Kyoto is the city of temples and shirine, I think cycling is one of the best ways to enjoy Kyoto.
Thank you♥.
